Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Anas, the Accountant General for the Federal Government of Somalia, holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from SIMAD University. Prior to his current role, the last eight years, he held key positions at Premier Bank Ltd, including Head of Finance, Head of HR and Administration, as well as Head of Internal Audit. Previously, he served as the Deputy Rector of Finance and Administration at SIMAD University, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the university’s financial and administrational operations. With extensive experience in the private sector, Mr. Anas brings a strong commitment to improving the public sector’s financial management systems, enhancing accountability, transparency, and service delivery. He assumed his role as Accountant General on May 8, 2023, and is poised to make a significant impact in his new position.
