To serve as a benchmark in the facilitation and provision of vital financial and administrative services.

Mission

To sustain the regular financial and administrative operations of the Office of the Accountant General by promptly supporting executive personnel and other departments in a committed and excellent manner.

Role of Admin and Finance Department

  1. Provide clear administrative support to all departments.
  2. Payroll of all Accountant General staff, whether civil servants, temporary staff, or security.
  3. Evaluation, preparation, and submission of the Accountant General Budget.
  4. Allocate and account for Office Bonuses.
  5. Promote efficient use of office resources;
  6. Management of all Office Expenditure
  7. Control of Office Contracts as well as fulfillment of contractual commitments.
  8. Registration, management, and disposal of all Accountant General Assets
  9. Preparation and submission of Accountant General Financial statement (Quarterly and Annual)

Strategy

  1. Focus on the office’s long-term strategic plan in order to attain a long-term budget.
  2. Utilize and implement all financial rules and regulations.
  3. Archive all financial documentation to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
  4. Maintain positive relations and clear communication channels with external contractors.
  5. Maximize the utilization of the Somali Financial Management Information System (SFMIS).
  6. Ensure all assets of Accountant General are appropriately accounted for.
  7. Sustaining a positive work environment and strong employee commitment within the Administrative and Finance Departments.
  8. Capacitating and motivating the Staff of the department.
