Office of the Accountant General – Federal. The Government of Somalia is a crucial component of the federal government’s Financial management infrastructure. This office is responsible for implementing the government’s budget, managing accounting procedures, and ensuring
transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.
The Office of the Accountant General was established in the early 1960s and became a key pillar of financial responsibility and transparency within Somalia’s public sector.
The establishment of the Office in the 1960s marked a significant step toward developing a formal framework for managing public funds and the federal government’s assets.
