Internal Control and Compliance Department (ICCD)

Department Overview

The Department shall be the eyes and ears of the Accountant General and will assist the Accountant General in fulfilling his or her mandate of ensuring that adequate accountability is provided for the collection, safeguarding, and usage of public funds and resources. The Department will ensure that staff throughout the government comply with the legal and operational requirements in controlling and managing public funds and resources.

The Internal Control & Compliance Advisory Department will be responsible for ensuring that there is compliance with the PFM legal and regulatory framework. This will be done through carrying out inspections and routine checks throughout the federal government to check for compliance with the PFM Act, Financial Regulations, COPM, Accounting Procedures, directives, and instructions.  All non-compliance will be reviewed and analyzed. The Department will also be responsible for ensuring there are adequate controls over the management of Government assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenditure.
